I am Martin Luther King Jr

I wonder why people feel the need for segregation

I hear cries for equality

I see determination to eliminate segregation

I am their voice

I pretend to not be afraid

I feel that violence is not the way to demand change

I touch the hearts who long for a leader

I worry that i won’t be enough

I cry “let freedom ring”

I am a civil rights leader

I understand that people are afraid of change

I say we must face the fact that the Negro is still not free

I dream that our future generation will not be judged off the color of their skin or religion or creed, but by their character

I try to get people to understand that all men were created equal by their God

I hope for a free, equal, and just nation

I am a man with a dream
